Verizon FIOS! soon...
Yesterday when I got home there was a note on my apartment from my landlord that Verizon will be here tomorrow to install FIOS. So I called in to change over to it from DSL.
3:37pm called 800-660-2215
3:30pm (1st) rep answered and transferred me to the FIOS department.
3:40pm (2nd rep) Gerry (Male) answered.
I explained that I was excited to switch over to FIOS.
3:43pm Gerry put me on hold to get a rep on the line to see if they can set this up. He was having a problem pulling up the data in his system.
3:46pm (3rd rep) Julio Santos informs me that you don't need to have a phone line for FIOS.
3:50pm he put me on hold to get me over to the ordering department to set me up. Since his system can't find me yet.
3:54pm (4th rep) Carlo explained to me that that I don't need a phone line. Just a credit card to put the FIOS on for automatic payments. He said to try back later to see when it's available because even though there are people setting up FIOS right across my street they can't see me in the system. I should also ask the guys installing what the time frame is for it to be fully ready. Before he let me off the phone he tried to UPSELL my cell phone over to Verizon to get it on one bill. AND then after I have FIOS to get the TV with it since there channels offer a lot that direct TV don't offer.
TOLD him my rabbit ears work just fine he says that once the FIOS has been in my area for awhile get the TV for 12.9 a month or for 42.99 a month get like a 140 channels.
Damn you! and your trying to UPSELL offers!
4:04pm end call
4:15pm Talked to the installers across the street and they said check with the landlord since they are just wiring up buildings and that the line from the main road hasn't been dug yet. Told him I called the landlord and he thought it would be good to go as soon as they were done.
sigh.... I will have to wait till someone gives me a flyer in my mail box to switch over.
WHY!? couldn't Verizon just place an order in there system that I want FIOS and as soon as it's ready just switch it on!?!?!
