Staples: Extended Warranty Plan. Take I

call center is closed hmmm

Hold music ended but no one came on the line.
Music came back on after a few seconds.

rep answered said i should call the store and ask them
but they should be able to pull up my receipt.

Got the phone number from staples.com for my local store.
Operator says it's not in service.

(PHONE CALL 4)
Called the local number Google had listed got a fax line.

(PHONE CALL 5)
3:02pm next number from Google.com worked.

3:05pm live person answered after the very annoying static sounding hold music.
Couldn't even make out what type of music it was.

3:05pm he put me back on hold after I told him what was going on.

3:05pm new employee answered explained the situation he transferred me.

3:06pm Manager said we should be able to pull it up.

3:07pm put me on hold

3:07pm gave him the last 4 digits of my credit card.
and that it was a Maxtor or Western digital hard drive 250GB
and my cell phone number.
I really couldn't remember most of the things he asked for (example if I had used it as a debit or credit card transaction) since it was either 14-15 months ago.
He said he would check and see if he can find it and call me back.
Honestly I was surprised that the very little info I could give was helpful.
Hopefully it is.

3:15pm He called back.
BUT he can't pull the data up at all.
They did a software change about six days ago and he can't even pull up anything that wasn't recent. He is going to call some corporate number and see if they have a record of it. If he can't get a hold of them today (said it's hard to reach them at this time of day) he will at least call me back tomorrow to let me know what the score is.

I thought it was great that he volunteered doing all this.
